Law Abiding Citizen

"Traumatized by the atrocious murders of his wife and daughter -- and the flawed justice system that set the killers free -- Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) gives in to his rage and sets out on a course of vengeance. He soon takes on not only the prosecutor involved in the case, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), but also the city of Philadelphia. Director F. Gary Gray's bold crime thriller co-stars Viola Davis and Michael Gambon." courtesy of netflix
This movie was brillant, now I will tell you, I watched this movie alone and I was supposed to go out with friends and I was so terrified I locked all the doors and windows and wouldnt leave the house for fear of going out in my hallway. so it is scary, but it's brillant, beyond it. its excellent acting and directing and just excellent thoughts / plot. definitley see it. maybe during the day.

Shutter Island

"World War II soldier-turned-U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) investigates the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane, but his efforts are compromised by his own troubling visions and by Dr. Cawley (Ben Kingsley). Mark Ruffalo, Michelle Williams, Emily Mortimer and Max von Sydow co-star in director Martin Scorsese's plot twist-filled psychological thriller set on a Massachusetts island in 1954." courtesy of netflix

There's not much I can say about this movie (because I don't want to give anything away) other than the fact that its brillant. It's not scary, you might tense up, but I DON'T do scary, I hate them and I can't even watch CSI or Law and Order, and this isn't scary, its just suspensful, so know that part because I didnt want to watch it for the longest time because I thought it was scary. the acting is brillant, the directing, of course, is brillant. Its nothing that your expecting from start to finish. definitley watch it.

The Joneses

"Keeping up with the Joneses (Demi Moore, David Duchovny, Amber Heard and Ben Hollingsworth) is next to impossible, considering they're a family with good looks, fancy cars, a sprawling estate -- and a shocking secret the neighbors would never guess. Gary Cole, Glenne Headly and Lauren Hutton co-star in this smart drama about the dark side of a material world from writer-director Derrick Borte." courtesy of netflix
I loved this movie! It was amazing, how can you go wrong with Demi Moore and David Duchovny? I love him ever since I saw him in 'Return to Me' (which is a great movie by the way) This is just a great look at the material world, the real world, and its just fun. it has some great twist and turns.

Grown Ups

"Comedy superstars Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, David Spade and Kevin James team up for a story of five childhood pals who reunite after 30 years to mourn the loss of their old basketball coach. Gathering at a July 4th celebration where their families meet for the first time, the friends find themselves acting a bit inappropriate for their age. Director Dennis Dugan pairs with frequent collaborator Sandler, who co-wrote the screenplay." courtesy of netflix

I laughed throughout this movie, but it was nothing amazing or brillant, its a very common Adam Sandler movie, I thought. You enjoy watching it but then its kinda lame and cheap. Its also one of those movies they oversell in the previews by basically showing you all the funny parts in the preview and thats about it. I wouldn't actively watch it again by choice, but if it was on cable and I was flipping through channels I'd probably watch it. I'm actually not a big Adam Sandler fan, I think his humour is kind of cheap and immature.

How Do You Know

"Forget friendly -- the competition gets downright fierce when a hotly contested love triangle connects a newly single sports fan (Reese Witherspoon) with a professional baseball player (Owen Wilson) and a business executive (Paul Rudd) who are both vying to be her full-time boyfriend. Jack Nicholson co-stars in this athletically minded romantic comedy from acclaimed writer-director James L. Brooks (As Good As It Gets)." courtesy of netflix

My mom thought this movie was a little slow, she was nodding off a bit in the movie (but she does that) I thought it was pretty great, Paul Rudd is of course amazing, I love him and he does a great job he's just quirky enough. Reese Witherspoon is beyond adorable, I don't think I've ever thought she was so cute until this movie, Owen Wilson you kind of hate but you kind laugh and love him and Jack Nicholson...well he doesnt really seem to play any character to different, he's alright, nothing different or special. the story line is interesting and I think you're intrigued throughout the movie, it probably could easily be something you rent, its not something you have to see right away but I think its entertaining.
