sherlock holmes

"Robert Downey Jr., in a Golden Globe-winning role, stars as the legendary London sleuth Sherlock Holmes, joined by Jude Law as Dr. Watson, in this Guy Ritchie-helmed reinvention of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective series. Based on a comic book by producer Lionel Wigram, the story follows Holmes and Watson as they face off against the villainous Blackwood (Mark Strong). Rachel McAdams co-stars as sharp beauty Irene Adler."

I heard this got bad reviews and I dont know why, I really enjoyed it. I am a big fan of Robert Downey Jr. and he didnt disappoint me in this movie. I thought it was a very interesting plot. I think the biggest thing is that its not what you expect. When I think of Sherlock Holmes I think of a detective like Monk and its really a lot more action packed and "superhero-esque" than detective.

  1. Loved the way he and Jude Law play off each other. And Rachel McAdams was an awesome foil.

Great news -- the sequel is in pre-production for a 2011 release.

One of my favorites of RDJ is "Heart and Souls". He did this one back in 1993, before his descent into (drug-induced) madness. I'm so thankful that he pulled his life together. Talent like his would be an awful thing to see wasted.

oh thats great, i hate when they remake bad movies (like the prince and me # 4!) but leave the good ones alone.
