it was entertaining, but it was the kind of movie that made me grab my laptop and mess around on facebook while I watched, (its probably a good flight movie, pearl) its a shame this was wasted on all these good actors, the acting was good, and theres nothing I can specifcially criticize it just wasnt there "I aint feeling it Dawg" as Randy would say, it just lacked something. Although it was nice to see a "race" movie not about white people and black people - those are getting really old.

Remember Me

I would like to preface this with the fact that I actually hate and loathe the 'Twilight'...anything. books, movies, posters, I do NOT find Robert Pattinson attractive in ANYway and I was reluctant to even rent this movie because of him.

now saying that, this is one of the BEST movies I have ever seen. I may like a lot of movies but its rare for me to find a movie that I LOVE. Now, the commercials for this movie are very vague and it was a really smart marketing move because I really had no idea what this movie was about and it made it that much better, so I in return, will not say what the movie was about, if you did see the previews its not really what your expecting. its sad, its happy, its exciting, you are intrigued the entire time from the first minute of the movie to the very last and everything in between.

this is the kind of movie that you don't stop thinking about, I actually couldn't sleep that night (not from being scared) but just from thinking about the movie, it makes you think.

seriously. watch this movie. you won't be upset, no matter who you are and what kind of movies you are into

The Last Song

I had high hopes for this movie, I am not a fan of Miley Cyrus at all but she is really cute and I would kill for her hair but she can't act for crap I felt bad for Greg Kinnear but most of all I am SO annoyed with Nicholas Sparks, can he retire already? I don't know why it took me this movie to see the truth. (until now I had no negative associations with him) He writes the same damn story every single time he just changes up the pace with a military story (dear john) or an old 50's story (the notebook) or the religious girl and the bad boy (a walk to remember) and in EVERY story its always rich vs. poor -- the girl or the guy always has a rich family (Rachel McAdams in 'Notebook' the boy in 'A Walk To Remember' Amanda Seyfried in 'Dear John' etc the list goes on.) and Now I am just as upset that I have actually seen all these movies, (apart from the notebook which was a really good movie mainly because the acting was superb, ryan gosling and rachel mcadams - come on what gets better than that?)

anyways, its corny, its really horrible acting (apart from Greg Kinnear of course), its annoying in its juvenillity (is that a word?) its almost like they tried really hard to make Miley a "good" girl and it was kind of annoying and of course its always annoying when teenagers say "i love you" after a week, especially in movies, it tells the real teenagers thats its okay and it happens.

but in all reality the minute I saw "pg" as the rating I knew it was gonna be crap. what kind of love story or ANY movie for that matter (apart from cartoons which can still be fun like 'Finding Nemo' lol) is PG?

I Love You, Beth Cooper

I dont know why I wanted to see this movie, I think I always have high hopes for Hayden but she never seems to pull it off she either has a bad agent or she's a bad actress its hard to tell but her movies are pretty horrible. This movie was one of those "high school" movies that drive you crazy -- the big crazy parties as if its not a big deal thats happening, the slutty girls who get naked for the fun of it, and everything else stupid and devoid of reality. There was hope in the story but in the Hollywood attempt they overplayed everything and ruined it. it was pretty pointless.

I knew I wouldn't be thrilled about this movie, It was good, I enjoyed it but I didn't sob like everyone said I would and I wasnt inspired by it. Its a good story but it's not all that special to me. -- sure its a new story of a homeless kid being taken in by strangers and becoming so great he goes to the NFL but the kid that avoids the streets is a story thats already been done, the kid that gets taken in by strangers is a stroy thats already be done, the kid that rises up and makes it to the big leagues has already been done. plus you all know how I feel about sports, especially football -- borrringgg. its a good movie, its good acting, its just not my cup of tea.

Fame

The previews for this movie were much more interesting and make it seem like its a different story than it is. I thought it would be a lot more talent, the singers in the show were alright, but they probably wouldn't even get through American Idol, the dancing was good but they didn't show enough of it I felt. What I did like was that it wasn't just about how talented everyone could be, it was about the reality. the scams, the betrayals, the failure, the honesty.

the ending performance on the graduation day was amazing though, the lighting, the combination of all the different styles were great. I hate Panabaker though she used to do disney channel movies and I don't think shes very talented and she looks so young I felt like she was in elementary school and I get really annoyed when they cast really young looking actors in older roles (like the roles Kristen Bell has been getting lately) be smart about it, play the Matthew Broderick card.

I am aware its a remake but I never saw the original from the 80's and I never saw the TV show if it is related to the movie.

Salt

"After she's accused of being a Russian sleeper spy, rogue CIA agent Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) goes on the run, using every tactic, accent and disguise she knows to elude her pursuers, clear her name and protect her husband. Her supervisor, Winter (Liev Schreiber), buys her story, while counterintelligence officer Peabody (Chiwetel Ejiofor) decidedly does not and will do anything to stop her in this fast-paced, intrigue-filled spy adventure."

I have to word this "review" properly. I will start off by saying I did enjoy the movie and really liked it. However, I was disappointed. The movie was originally written for Tom Cruise and he turned it down because he said it was too similar to his Mission Impossible character -- while watching the movie I felt like I was watching Mission Impossible. I thought I was gonna be really excited about this bad ass girl kicking ass, but I was that impressed or shocked. Its not the first time they've done a movie with a bad ass girl and I thought her role in 'Wanted' was way more bad-ass than this one.

I thought the biggest problem was actually the directing/camera angles. So many times I found myself thinking "that could have been a really amazing shot" she did some amazing kick or something but the camera angle didnt really capture it that well

its definitley not predictable, its shocking, its interesting, its intriguing...when you think your bored or that you have it figured out. you don't. I remember sitting there like "well yeah, this movie thinks its soo clever, I know exactly what happened and whats gonna happen.." and then you don't. haha. definitley worth seeing!

A Single Man

this is why I have a problem taking movie suggestions from people, when I think a movie looks like crap, someone tells me to watch it, I watch it, and my original impression was right. my hairdresser told me this was a really good movie (or now that I think about it, maybe she was just telling me she wanted to see it lol) anyways, I don't know why everyone was so excited about this movie, I actually couldnt finish the whole thing. I was SO bored by the music, by the story, by the acting, I used to always think I had to finish every movie because it could get good but then realized, a movie is not a book. if a movie is not good in the first 20 minutes it most likely won't get good (depending on why you think the movie is bad) but a book definitley can, sometimes a book can be bad until the very last chapter and that last chapter will make you recommend the book and re-read it 20 times. its not the same with movies.

anyways, completely boring, i dont get the hype.

The Bounty Hunter

this movie was pretty horrible. you don't often find me say this about movies, I usually tend to always walk away from a movie with a pretty likeable grace but this was just, blahhh, and I think I pretty much new that from the previews. Its not the acting, its definitley the story and whoever wrote it although I'm definitley starting to like Jenn Aniston less and less. I was totally team aniston before but angelina is definitley winning me over. Jenn makes crappy movies alot, I dont know if she does it for the money or if she really thinks these are good movies (friends with money, rumor has it, management, etc.)

its just very predictable, its boring, a scene is supposed to be exciting but its just lame and mundane and it is totally not even worth watching if you are completely bored out of your mind (or on a flight, fyi pearl)

I remember being really annoyed because there was a scene where she went into a tattoo parlor and in a way to get an appointment right away she describe this tattoo of a whole body panther and the way she describe it, there is no way it could work. and it really annoyed me haha

Public Enemies

first off, after posting the netflix synopsis I just have to say I can't believe Leelee Sobieski is credited in the movie because she was honestly only in the movie for like 5 seconds if that and I'm pretty sure she only had like 2 lines, haha.

anyways, the movie, obviously its a good movie, its Johnny Depp even not being a big fan of him I know this (I dont dislike him, I just have no strong likeable feelings towards him either, especially not in the way of most depp fans) Its a really likeable fun movie, he's so charismatic and clever and I always enjoy movies that are set back in the 50's era if not just for the suspenders (i have thing for suspenders...but only when they are worn with a suit a built body... no limpy nerdy urkel thing, nor howdy cowboy jean suspenders haha)

definitley worth watching.

The Box

This movie was really weird, but in an intriguing way, there were scenes that I was like "what the hell?!" in a really confused "why?" way but at the same time it was a movie that I was completely involved in, I was scared, I was sad, I cried... I definitley didn't laugh at all. when you watch the entire thing and walk away from it, you're affected but just know when you watch your gonna be thinking "what the hell is this" throughout a lot of it. haha.

Sex and the City 2

I'm definitley late in getting to this movie and as everyone has said its an utter disappointment. it is terribly predictable, you know exactly what is going to happen and nothing is a shock.

Its overly "relateable" charlotte is stressed from being a mother worried about having a hot nannie, the lawyer miranda is being treated unfair at work and of course as usually carrie has relationship problems while samantha just fucks everything. they go to abu dhabi, which could be really cool but there are alot of scenes where they try to play powerful music and use camera pans to try and tell you "this is an amazing view/building your looking at" but it actually wasnt, it was dull and it wouldnt have been annoying if they didnt try and act like it was grander than it was. the cinematography is really cheap and the storyline is really dull and i loved the whole series and the first movie but this was just, it was childish, they are all married with families (besides miranda) and the show didnt progress from when the series first started. the girls dress the same, except their older, and they look older.

i thought it was also a cheap and sleezy explote on the middle east and their customs, they make fun of their culture and they disrespect their culture, (especially samantha) and although it is funny and you do laugh occasionally theres a very cheap and guilty aspect to it.

i didnt think they needed a second movie, alot of people after seeing this movie claimed it was "to wrap up" to create closure, but i dont think they needed that after the first movie. charlotte had a baby, carrie and big got married, miranda and steve got back together and samantha got back to being samantha, that was closure. they didnt need to move on, they should know most movies dont do a succesful second, especially not a movie that was originally a succesful tv show.

Nothing Like the Holidays

this is a really subdued comedy, there is definitey a comedy factor but its not really a comedy movie. I liked the puerto rican aspect, its always fun to watch other races and cultures in their own environment. I think the cast plays out to all the possible charcters, the white-uptight-wife, the solider, the actor, the gangster, the smartypants and so forth. Its not a predictable movie which is always a plus for me and i think its hard to do now a days.

She's out of my league

I thought this was gonna be a movie that I laughed at but turned off and thought I hated it, I assumed I would hate the girl but I was soo wrong, I loved the girl, which was hard to accomplish but they gave her the right personality to make her likeable and hot and the guy that plays Kirk is the perfect guy, hes so awkward and perfect for the role. there ae soo many funny scenes, i dont want to give it away but they are the scenes that you will be talking about at parties wishing it happened to a real friend so it could be a real story, haha. definitley worth watching!

Valentines Day

I think it was no surprise that this was a movie everyone wanted to see. Its a long movie, obviously with so many big name actors there is a lot going on, some of it is hard to keep up with mainly because so many of the actors look so similar. (jennifer garner, anne hathway, jessica biel. bradley cooper and mr. mcsteamy) i think its easily relateable and although its a long movie and can start feeling like a droan, do watch it till the end because it not as predictable as you would think. its definitley worth watching just because its such a big deal with so many big actors. (thers so many more that arent even listed the opening credit titles, of all big names, are over 20 actors.

Swing Vote

I think I was a little disappointed with this movie. I was expecting more from it. I think because I know it would never happen (not the country being split by one vote, which isnt actually what happens, but you'll see what I mean when you see it.) I will tell you now it has a horrible ending, but actually now in retrospect I suppose it couldnt have happened any other way.

the acting however, is great. Kevin Costner's character is so much fun and is such an endearing screw-up. His daughter is an amazing little actress and I hope she can go far after this role because she did great and I believe its her first big role (the credits said "introducing") which usually implies first role.

I wouldnt bend your back to watch this movie, but if you get a chance and theres nothing else to watch, go ahead.

Extraordinary Measures

"After their two young children are diagnosed with a rare genetic disease for which conventional medicine has no cure, John (Brendan Fraser) and Aileen (Keri Russell) pin their hopes on the work of unconventional scientist Dr. Robert Stonehill (Harrison Ford). Director Tom Vaughan's heartfelt drama is based on the true story of the Crowley family, as chronicled by journalist Geeta Anand in her book The Cure."

I really liked this movie because I could relate to it on a medical/health level. But even beyond that its a very entertaining and motivating story. I thought Harrison Ford was a weird acting choice for this role, I guess its pulled off in a way. Knowing its a true story you just have to accept thats how Dr. Stonehill really is, if it was a written script I would be saying "no Dr. would act like that."

I thought it was a great way to bring attention to the disease, (Pompe) and I would LOVE if it was my disease (so i'm sure people affected by Pompe are thrilled about this, and thats great.) I would have, however, liked to know more about the disease. I feel they liked on that but it was such a big story they had to figure out what to put into scipt and what to leave out and they figure people can google it later.

17 again

And that's exactly what he gets when he wakes up one morning to find he's 17 years old again. With his adult mind stuck inside the body of a teenager (Zac Efron), Mike actually has the chance to reverse some decisions he wishes he'd never made. But maybe they weren't so bad after all. Leslie Mann and Michelle Trachtenberg co-star."

I of course ordered this movie for Matthew Perry (I'm a fan of any 'friends' star) however, if you're going to see this movie because of him, dont. his role is actually fairly small in the scope of things.

However, I was surprised to love Zac Efron. He's a surprisingly good actor and I was totally blinded by that by his start with Disney. I think Disney can be very unfortuante and can really hinder and stereotype an actor and its really hard to break from that mold.

The story has somewhat been done before but its still refreshing and still entertaining theres alot of good actors in it and its very relatable on many levels.

Doubt

"In this Oscar-nominated adaptation of John Patrick Shanley's Tony-winning play, Sister Aloysius (Meryl Streep) begins to have doubts about doting priest Father Flynn (Philip Seymour Hoffman), who seems to have become overly involved in the life of a young African American pupil. I don't know why this movie is nominated for an Oscar. It seems like it could be an itriguing capitvating movie but its really horrible. The acting is good, but if you're going to do a movie thats about nun's and the church and its set "back in the day" then you need to have something more interesting than what this movie has to offer. It should be more shocking than it is and it was truly very boring. I know my mom has fallen asleep 3 times trying to watch it.

Amelie

OMG! I LOVED THIS MOVIE! I never watched it because the poster she kind of looks creepy and I thought it was a scary movie and it was my hair stylist who told me about it and said its a great story.

it is a french movie so obviously the whole thing is subtitled which was a little shock at first but french is such a beautiful language I like hearing them speak it.

Its a great story, you're totally affected by the characters and they are so endearing the way the movie is shot, is brillant and fun and I dont think I've ever been so enamored with a movie and what was going to happen. its totally original, its totally unique its in NO way predictable

and hey, the travelocity commercials where the gnome is sending pictures from its "travels" is from this movie. haha.
